May - English - 2.0 Advocacy Training

UCASA is proud to announce our May Advanced Advocacy Training! This training is for folks who have taken the 40-hour Sexual Assault Counselor Training. We dive deeper into topics that may have been covered in the 40-hour Sexual Assault Counselor Training and provide more activities and conversations for attendees to get a comprehensive presentation. The first half of our training will provide trainees with an in-depth workshop on Implicit Bias ripe with activities, scenarios, and conversations. The second half of the training will cover Incarcerated Survivors and the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). In this presentation, we will delve into how bias, socialization, and the legal system may affect how survivors are viewed and believed and how they heal or find justice. It is vital to better understand different aspects of a survivor's life to provide more trauma-informed advocacy.
