We engage individuals and organizations in local and statewide collaborations to strengthen the effectiveness of sexual violence education, prevention, and response in Utah. UCASA started in 1996 when people from across the state came together to end sexual assault. We began a partnership with state agencies and service providers that lasts to this day. Together, we support survivors and work to prevent sexual assault in all forms. UCASA is growing! Over the past couple of years, UCASA has faced significant challenges and is in the process of re-imagining our work and our organization. Essential Job Functions
- Assist with managing UCASA's team of statewide sexual assault helpline volunteers.
- Assist with managing UCASA's helpline Spanish contractors.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and volunteer appreciation efforts throughout the state.
- Increase outreach efforts and spread awareness of UCASA resources, particularly the statewide helpline.
- Keep detailed records of calls received at the helpline and assist with follow-up calls, when needed.
- Support UCASA staff and outreach team at community events.
- Work with other volunteers as directed by UCASA staff.
- The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
- Support and coordinate relevant community education and public outreach.
- Promote and advocate for victims rights.
- Conduct a national-scope review of the current literature, existing curricula, and resource materials as well as established state and local protocols; model programs and protocols; promising practices; and other resources that can compliment or support the development of the prevention efforts.
- Work in collaboration with the Outreach Coordinator to fulfill all grant objectives and deliverables.
- Type correspondence and reports; edit and update various spreadsheets.
- Maintain confidential records and files.
- Log, manage and analyze information on the progress of programs, using Excel and other databases.
- Assists in facilitating training and partnering with the Outreach Coordinator according to federal guidelines and policies.
- Support in program evaluation measures - including collection, analysis and maintenance of participant evaluations as well as grant data collection, maintenance, analysis, summary and reporting.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by performing responsibilities in a professional manner, models and encourages respectful communication, and facilitates strong collaboration with external agencies and community partners.
- Participates in staff meetings to share information and seek input and feedback.
- In collaboration with the Outreach Coordinator, assess and respond to ongoing training and education needs of community members, advocates, and allied professionals throughout Utah.
- Support smaller communities by providing training and materials to help prevent programs from stagnating in development phases.
- Builds community capacity to develop and sustain sexual assault services by facilitating communication and collaboration among external agencies and community partners.
- Responds to requests for information about UCASA training and education in a timely and professional manner, maintains a record of all requests, refers requests to appropriate staff members or outside agencies, monitors and records all actions taken in response to requests. Able to learn and adapt to new data management systems as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a combined 2 or more years of education and experience:
- Knowledge in operations, programs, policies and protocols.
- Familiarity with forensics, crime lab procedures, emergency medical terminology and procedures, victim advocacy, and victim service agencies.
- Experience working in a non-profit organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of direct victim services and the agencies involved with violence against women issues and sexual violence issues from a feminist perspective.
- Associates degree from an accredited college plus 1 or more years experience.
- High school diploma plus 1-2 years experience in victim advocacy and/or domestic violence/sexual assault work.
- An understanding of and agreement with UCASA’s mission, values and philosophy regarding the elimination of sexual violence, empowerment of victim/survivors, commitment to anti-oppression work and social justice.
- Understanding and commitment to issues of cultural diversity and anti-racism.
- Ability to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, some weekends and evenings required.
- Visionary, enthusiastic and invested in fulfilling the obligations of the position.
- Actively participates in the co-inspiration and co-creation of projects while providing momentum.
- Proficiency with general office duties, computer systems and technology including website development and maintenance.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete projects within established timeframe.

- Ability to travel statewide, a valid Utah driver’s license, access to an automobile, and valid auto insurance required.
- Applicants who have already completed the 40 hour Sexual Assault Advocacy Training provided through UCASA will be given preference but all individuals are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants with crisis response experience are preferred.
