SART Power Hour: Understanding Sexual Assault Evidence
This training will provide an in-depth look at sexual assault evidence analysis, focusing on what happens at the State Crime Lab and how to explain forensic findings to survivors. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the rape kit evidence collection process, common reasons for “inconclusive results,” and strategies for setting realistic expectations with survivors. Designed for both new and experienced SART members, this session will equip advocates with the knowledge to support survivors through the forensic process effectively.
This training will be presented by Rebekah Kay from the Utah State Crime Lab.
