We engage individuals and organizations in local and statewide collaborations to strengthen the effectiveness of sexual violence education, prevention, and response in Utah. UCASA started in 1996 when people from across the state came together to end sexual assault. We began a partnership with state agencies and service providers that lasts to this day. Together, we support survivors and work to prevent sexual assault in all forms. UCASA is growing! Over the past couple of years, UCASA has faced significant challenges and is in the process of re-imagining our work and our organization. The Assistant Director's primary responsibility will be to insure that all Sexual Assault Services Program Coordinators reflect the needs and populations of the communities they serve. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multitasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines. The Assistant Director responsibilities are inextricably tied to the success of all UCASA’s programs. Driving everything forward from planning to implementation, your actions will directly influence the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of each program. You will play an important role in project planning and risk and issue management.
Essential Job functions
- Supervision and support of all Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault staff ● Initial review of timecards, invoices, and employee reimbursements
- Oversee weekly/bi-weekly staff check ins, 90 day reviews, 6 month reviews, and annual reviews
- Provides professional knowledge of evidenced based concepts, principles, procedures and practices for victims of sexual assault.
- Develops methods, approaches, or procedures to meet program requirements and victim's needs.
- Oversee advocacy and case management of sexual assault cases, assign cases, and work closely with Sexual Assault Services Program Coordinators to assure appropriate services to clients.
- Support SARTs in the following counties: Tooele, Duchesne,Davis, Uintah, Dagget,. ● Track grant deliverables
- Maintain program supplies
- Respond to questions and request for information
- Implement and monitor programs as directed by management and see programs through to completion
- Assist with coordination of education programs
- Provide callers with information such as company address, directions to company, fax numbers, company website and other related information
- Receive, document and facilitate staff and contract reimbursement requests ● Monitor project schedules and budgets, preparing progress reports, and liaising with key stakeholders.
- Track grant deliverables
- Oversee grant contract compliance and required training.
- Work with the Management team and Grant/Fund Coordinator on grant proposals. ● Perform other related duties as required
- Collect needed service statistics for grant reports, and at the request and direction of the Executive Director, complete quarterly and annually
- Provide supervision, training, delegation, and evaluation to Sexual Assault Services Program Coordinators in collaboration with the Program Manager of Training and Education.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled management, team, and staff meetings. ● Assist in coordination and participation in sexual assault response teams (SARTs) ● Provide training and education to community partners in responding to sexual assault ● Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will have the following:
- Knowledge in SANE operations, programs, policies and protocols.
- Familiarity with forensics, crime lab procedures, emergency medical terminology and procedures, victim advocacy, and victim service agencies.
- Knowledge and experience in administrative and/or non-profit operations, programs, policies and protocols.
- Familiarity with basic budgeting and bookkeeping.
- Experience managing volunteers and/or interns
- Spanish fluency

- Comprehensive knowledge of direct victim services and the agencies involved with violence against women and sexual violence issues from a feminist perspective.
Minimum qualifications include a combined 5 or more years of education and experience: ● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in women’s studies, political science, public policy, communications, criminal justice, social work...or another closely related field plus 1-2 years experience in administrative assisting, office management, bookkeeping or other related fields.
- Associates degree from an accredited college plus 3 or more years experience. ● High school diploma plus 5-7 years of relevant demonstrated experience (listed above) ● An understanding of and agreement with UCASA’s mission, values and philosophy
regarding the elimination of sexual violence, empowerment of victim/survivors, commitment to anti-oppression work and social justice.
- Understanding and commitment to issues of cultural diversity and anti-racism. ● Ability to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, some weekends and evenings required.
- Visionary, enthusiastic and invested in fulfilling the obligations of the position. Actively participates in the co-inspiration and co-creation of projects while providing momentum. ● Proficiency with general office duties, computer systems and technology including
website development and maintenance.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills. ● Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete projects within established timeframe.
- Demonstrated experience functioning within multidisciplinary settings. ● Skilled in establishing effective working relationships.

- Ability to travel state-wide, a valid Utah driver’s license, access to an automobile, and valid auto insurance required.
