Volunteering

Our volunteer observers make the CourtWatch program possible!

As a volunteer observer, you'll spend at least one morning or afternoon each month observing hearings in Provo's Fourth District Courthouse or the Provo Justice Court. The data you collect will be quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed to create a picture of how hearings related to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse proceed in Provo. This information will help better inform the community of how the judicial process operates and provide pressure on the courts to follow best practices relating to these crimes.

CourtWatch will work with your schedule to find the best time for you to be in the courts. We'll provide you with training and outfit you with everything you need to take accurate and comprehensive notes on the proceedings. You can have an effect on the lives of the most vulnerable among us and make a difference in our community!

CourtWatch is always looking for new volunteers.
