Each year, advocates across the country recognize April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to increase public awareness about sexual violence and engage the community to prevent it. The Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA) is hosting the 2017 Fearless 5K in May following the conclusion of our other events recognizing Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Our vision is simple; we're working to create a society free from sexual violence. Our organization works aggressively to eliminate sexual violence in all of its forms and all places. Since 1996 we have provided advocacy, resources, and training for organizations and individuals throughout Utah who are engaged in sexual violence prevention and response. We've worked to empower survivors to transform our community. As Utah's nationally-recognized sexual violence coalition.
Now in its 4th year, the Fearless 5K raises critical funds to support the life-changing work of UCASA and serves as a source of inspiration and hope for advocates and survivors of sexual assault alike. Proceeds from this year's Fearless 5K will support the critical work of the Start by Believing campaign at our coalition.
