why research?
Victim advocate schedules are unpredictable and busy because they constantly need to fulfill client’s direct service needs. This phenomena, coupled with an increasing demand for measurable outcomes by the agencies that fund rape crisis programs, makes UCASA’s research and evaluation program essential to victim service programs.

UCASA's research program explores successful sexual assault programs and ways to evaluate such programs. The purpose of our research and evaluation is to provide the most efficient and effective means of advancing a society that condemns and seeks alternatives to sexually violent behaviors.

A continual examination of progressive techniques and evaluations will support a shift from sexually violent behavior and the attitudes that support them. Progressive public education is necessary to disassemble normative, harmful beliefs that perpetuate a sexually violent society and ultimately disallow continuity of care for sexual assault victims in the state of Utah.
