Break the Silence, Break the Cycle, Join the Movement - The annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Awards event will be held on april 12th and keynoted by Shirley Brown-Miller of Your Community Connection (YCC) in Ogden. Shirley was a recipient of one of last year's SAAM awards. This event is free and open to service providers throughout the state. to nominate someone for a SAAM award, call or email ucasa and provide some general information about the nominee or review the nomation info. and complete the nomination form. to add a SAAM event to the statewide calendar, call or email ucasa.
Documenting Domestic Violence Injuries - Dan Sheridan, President of the International Association of Forensic Nurses, will be presenting on the topic of documenting domestic violence injuries on may 20th. This
event is free and open to service providers throughout the state.
Nursing continuing education credits will be available. to Reduce Violent Crimes Against Women on Campus The U.S. Department
of Justice Office of Violence Against Women is accepting proposals for
this 2 year grant aimed at developing and strengthening victim services
in cases involving violent crimes against women on campuses and strengthening
security and investigative strategies to prevent and prosecute violent
crimes against women on campuses. :more

a safe campus environment, whether they are developing and implementing
new policies and programs or working to enhance existing ones. It also
outlines an institutions legal obligations to have a sexual violence
policy and formal programming to address sexual violence on campus.
Creating a violence-free environment requires collaborative efforts by all stakeholders on campus. Working together, the campus community can - and must - make a difference by intervening and ultimately, preventing rape and sexual violence on your campus. Campus
Curriculum - UCASA is in the process of creating campus specific
curriculum that can be incorporated into 40-hour trainings or used independently.
A list of the various curriculum and the training recommendations are
